Finally got around to uploading pics of games played back in June.
WW2 game using Disposable Heroes rules. 28mm
The US is attacking a German held town. All the ugly yellow slips of paper are potential hidden German units. Some were decoys.
The Germans inflicted a lot of casualties and didn't lose any armor but in the end the US held more obejective points for the win.
Another 28mm AWI game using home modified "This Very Ground" rules for big battles.
This time was another "professional" fight with Hessians vs a mixed force of French and USA.
US and French forces setup behind a blind.
French cavalry and grenadiers push up the right flank.
American regulars attack in the center.
US militia attemptes to flank on the left but they have a long duel with Hessian Jaegers who eventually fall back.
Towards the end, the French throw their weight into the center and right flank.
The Hessians are left with a few weak units on the right and their center in full retreat.
One more WW2 game set up. I forget how this one turned out.
Wargames of interest: Imperial Rome, Dark Ages, Middle Ages, FIW, AWI, Colonial, WW2, Vietnam, Modern, Fantasy. Mostly 28mm with a little 15mm here and there.

Playcation 2015
This year we played a lot of AWI and WW2. As usual, click the picture to get a larger version (we all know how the internet works by now, right?).
First off was a what if "Battle of the Professionals" AWI between French and British.
The British, with a numbers advantage, head for a French defensive position.
The French have a 2:1 gun advantage.
British cavalry on the right flank.
The British advance goes smoothly while in round shot range.
Once they reach grape shot range the casualties begin to mount quickly.
French cav looking flashy.
Supported by infantry, the French cav charge the flank to counter the British cav and light infantry.
A wholesale slaughter leaves a single French unit in command of the flank hill.
One fresh British unit manages to make it to the French guns but they loose the melee and the battle is won by the French.

DH WW2 game
Disposable Heroes WW2 game in 28mm.
1 platoon of US paratroops with bazooka team and 4 man command
2 Shermans and 1 halftrack
vs.
1 platoon of German Heer with sniper team and 4 man command
1 panzer IV and 1 Marder and 1 halftrack
The objectives: A village on the left, a farm on the right and hedgerows in between.
German command elects to stay in the halftrack.
US teams advance to the hedgerow. The sherman moves up to the corner....and is promptly hit by a panzerfaust, putting it out of action.
on the right the other Sherman edges down the road.
The Panzer 4 lines up on it but misses.
In the village the paratroops have occupied the buildings, but the Marder moves up.
It acquires the infantry in the building and lights them up with HE. The US command and 1 section are destroyed.
The bazooka team moves up but gets pinned down by MG42 fire.Next turn they rally and manage to get a shot off...
...into the P4 turret, setting off some ammo and killing the crew.
2 sections of paras move into the farm. A section of Germans moves in to oppose them. The German command drives their hanomag into the courtyard, catching a US section in the open and handles it roughly with their MG42.
Back in the village the US and Germans are whittling each other down with a building to building shootout.
Finally the Americans get suppressed and the German squad charges across to close assault. It is desperate but leaves the Germans in control of the village.
Hoping to gain the farm objective by game end, the US loads their halftrack and makes a dash for the courtyard.
The Marder spots it, but misses with its gun (by 1!)
The half track's luck runs out as a faust hits it jn the side, killing most of the occupants and suppressing the rest.
Last turn: The Germans have reduced the paras to 1 section and managed to cut all the reinforcements so they hold the farm 2:1 and the village. German victory.

Battle of Jackson Heights (A Combatpainter saga)
A WW2 action. US Airborne supported by armor attacking through hedgerows into Grench town defended by Germans. 28mm scale. Used Disposable Heroes rules with some home grown modifications.
I had these Force on Force Fog of War cards I wanted to make use of so we added them to the game, modifying them to match the WW2 setting and DH rules.
They turned out to be a better deal for the Americans, as they got an extra tank show up as reinforcement and the Germans had their Panther bug out halfway through the game. The Americans had to make their way into the edge of the town defenses by turn 6 which they just barely managed to do but they had destroyed most of the German force in the process.
